I originate from the West Yorkshire mill town of Huddersfield, set in the foothills of the Pennines. And it was childhood walks with my father on the local moors and hills that sparked my passion for the landscape.

I studied an Art & Design diploma at Huddersfield Technical College and graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art Printmaking from Norwich School of Art in 1991.

Following graduation, I moved into Graphic Design and Commercial Photography, working in publishing and advertising before forming the Eclipse Design agency in Norwich in 1996, with two partners.

I returned to Yorkshire in 2004, unable to resist the lure of the hills that I love any longer. I still work in Graphic Design and Commercial Photography and can often be found out on the hills at silly o'clock.

I believe that photography is not just about capturing images but telling stories too. Landscapes are full of stories about their history, folklore and creation. I always research the areas that I photograph and try to capture something of the spirit of the place.
